Fundación Agreste

Founded in Argentina in 1993, Fundación Agreste has worked for nearly 25 years to promote the principles of sustainable development with a focus on the environment and how ecological issues affect the quality of life and opportunities for both current and future generations.

Fundación Agreste’s principle objectives include promoting environmental education and studies that allow recuperation of degraded zones, creating permanent monitoring and evaluation sites, and stimulating the development of policies aimed at sustainable development and conservation. To achieve these objectives, the organization utilizes a variety of approaches, which include organizing workshops and seminars, promoting exchange of information between different stakeholders, and informing public entities and businesses about development strategies that minimize negative impacts on the environment.

Key Fundación Agreste projects involve combatting desertification, building capacity for micro-credit financing, and establishing protected areas.
