Revitalizing Cocoa Trees in Ecuador

Los Rios, Ecuador

About the project:

12Tree is investing in a 638-hectare project located in the “cocoa cluster” region of Ecuador, known for its high yields. In the Rio Lindo project, cocoa trees and teak are combined and efficient soil management is applied in three farms. By combining precise nutrition and mechanized pruning and harvesting, the cocoa trees are being revitalized.

12Tree is also building post harvesting facilities to process cocoa. The project achieved certification from UTZ in 2019.
