These farms are where the bamboo species Guadua aculeata grows on land that once was deforested and suffering from soil compaction and serves to connect remnant forest patches with native species.
Camille Rebelo, co-founder and managing partner of the company, has expressed their interest in investment in Mexico and Brazil. The team is in search of degraded lands that do not compete with food production but can be restored to fully functioning ecosystems. EcoPlanet Bamboo’s plantations have the FSC certification which ensures the responsible management of these plantations. The minimum investment/loan size per project is US$10M.
