Fair Connection is a Chilean company, founded as part of SSC Americas, that promotes responsible forest management. One of the main challenges Fair Connection focuses on is the restoration of landscapes in Latin America, integrating the objectives of the private sector with countries’ national goals to fight climate change.
Within Initiative 20x20, Fair Connection aims to promote restoration activities on a large scale and build inclusive business models. They believe that the future lies in developing “Resilient Landscapes” where healthy communities, living and working across all types of land, can help recover and conserve natural resources for the planet and future generations.
Fair Connection will work with Initiative 20x20 to achieve the coalition’s goals through:
- A unique network of professionals and organizations related to sustainable forest management in more than 26 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America;
- Practical experience in the development of inclusive business models based on natural capital;
- Collaboration with international initiatives such as the Eco-Innovation Foundation and its Good Wood Program;
The strong gender approach it includes in all its activities through the “Wise Women Network” (Women’s Initiative for Sustainability and Empowerment www.wisewomennet.org) and Wise Women Chile (www.wisewomenchile.com). Fair Connection also looks forward to bringing a gender focus to Initiative 20x20’s Investment Ecosystem Task Force, supporting women-led projects and linking potential funders to project developers.
