One Tree Planted is a forest restoration charity that raises funds to support local organizations with tree-based restoration initiatives across the globe, including the development of agroforestry systems, mangrove restoration, and the creation of wildlife corridors. We currently invest in 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) across several important biomes, and we will continue to grow our impact in the region.
In order to ensure quality projects that have a positive lasting impact on the environment and communities, we adhere to rigorous vetting standards that include: i) evaluating restoration methods and ecological impacts, ii) ensuring stakeholder consultation, Indigenous Peoples’ and Local Community (IPLC) consent and engagement, and iii) validating the legacy of the project through monitoring and reporting. By participating in Initiative 20x20’s Task Forces, One Tree Planted contributes to ongoing conversations surrounding restoration project standards and learns from other members.
As a financial partner to Initiative 20x20, One Tee Planted aims to raise USD $100 million for restoration projects in LAC by 2030. We will do so by continuing to leverage grant funding to support local organizations to scale their impact while also investing and developing verified carbon and biodiversity projects with large-scale restoration partners.
