Pomona Impact is an impact investing firm that focuses on early-growth Central American companies working in agriculture and basic services. It is in the process of scaling up its investment activities through Pomona Impact Fund II, a new $30 million investment fund for Central America. Pomona is an active investor and often works with its portfolio companies to assist with strategic considerations, business development and financial systems management.
Pomona Impact Foundation was launched to build ecosystem services into entrepreneurship and innovation in the agricultural and conservation sectors. It runs programs working with companies and NGOs that promote inclusive business models and climate smart agriculture practices and technology.
Pomona also offers consulting services to businesses and NGOs, primarily involved in agriculture or conservation, to assess business feasibility studies, strengthen links to financing channels and prepare companies to engage investors.
Pomona Impact and its related foundation and investment fund are excited at the prospect of supporting Initiative 20x20. By the end of 2020, Pomona aims to deploy approximately $15 to $20 million from our investment fund into businesses in Central American countries, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador. A significant percentage of those funds will go into projects and businesses that conserve and restore the region’s forests.
