Regional Technical Exchange on Landscape Restoration 2025 – Workshop Report

As part of the 2025 Annual Summit of the 20x20 Initiative, held in Puerto Varas, Chile, a Technical Exchange Workshop was held on April 8 with the participation of 68 representatives from partner organizations. This space served to highlight strategic actions underway and foster new collaborations toward the sustainable restoration of landscapes in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The workshop focused on two collaborative exercises. First, participants mapped actions around six priority areas: productive restoration, ecosystem services, governance, public and private investment, and inclusive leadership. Then, they identified possible roles for their organizations in the four pillars of the 2024–2030 Strategy: policy, private financing, knowledge, and social equity.
The workshop was facilitated by an inter-institutional team composed of the 20x20 Initiative Secretariat (WRI), CATIE, the Universidad Mayor de Chile, and the Alliance for Assisted Natural Regeneration.
