Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Action in Latin America
At the COP26 Global Landscapes Forum Climate conference, Initiative 20x20 gathered leaders from government and impact investment firms to discuss their perspectives on implementing nature-based solutions. The event featured Ministers Andrea Meza of Costa Rica, Silvano Tjong-Ahin of Suriname, Orlando Habet of Belize, as well as Viceministers Jose Muro and Alfredo Mamani of Peru and Juan Nicolas Galarza of Colombia. Directors from Mirova Natural Capital, &Green Fund, and HSBC shared their insights on breaking through the bottlenecks to invest in restoration.
Public policies and private investment for conservation and landscape restoration in Latin America
During COP26, Initiative 20x20 invited Minister Carlos Correa of Colombia, Minister Fernando Mattos of Uruguay, and CEOs of impact investment firms to discuss aligning public policies with private investment to promote landscape restoration and conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean. This panel was held with the support of the European Investment Bank and the Benelux Union.

A Decade for Ecosystem Restoration and Women’s Empowerment – September 8, 2021
Women play a critical role in ecosystem restoration initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean: as the primary providers of care and domestic work, they are uniquely positioned to advocate for the well-being of their communities. Initiative 20x20, Bosques Modelo, and Universidad Technológica de Pereira invited experts from diverse sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities for women in the field. Panelists also shared how we can build on the momentum of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration to increase women's participation in restoration projects.

Carbon Markets for Nature-Based Solutions: A Regulatory Framework – December 16, 2020
