The ProAves Foundation was established in 1998 with the aim of protecting wild birds and their habitats in Colombia through research, strategic action, and community engagement.
The Foundation has a free and open membership for all who want to share its vision of conserving endangered species and key biodiversity areas. Through collaboration with organizations and citizens from all over Colombia, the ProAves family nurtures a commitment to conservation. ProAves has always found open doors in all the communities it has worked with and it is very gratifying to find that Colombians feel a great passion for nature.
ProAves will contribute to the goals of Initiative 20x20 by:
- Providing areas to develop restoration programs within its 28 natural reserves.
- Contributing technical capacity to execute conservation and restoration projects in Colombia.
- Identifying restoration and conservation projects that may be of interest to investors.
- Supporting other members of the Initiative with conservation knowledge and experience.
- Contributing to the Initiative's technical goals through ecosystem restoration projects.
- Sharing information about the initiative on its website and social media channels.
