Fondo para la Paz, I.A.P (FPP) is a Mexican non-profit local development agency that since 1994, has increased the well-being of indigenous peoples living in poverty and extreme poverty through participatory projects and community organization that enhance the capacities and opportunities of rural indigenous communities in Mexico to improve well-being. FPP currently works in five 5 states of Mexico (Campeche, Veracruz, Chiapas, San Luis Potosi, and Oaxaca), reaching more than 42,000 people in 110 communities.
FPP can contribute to Initiative 20x20 with its distinctive approach to developing sustainable communities based on three interconnected axes: community organization, generation of knowledge and improvement of living conditions. These are the pillars that give meaning and coherence to the work with communities. Considered as articulated processes, it is assumed that together they will help generate the changes that will allow us to sustain the development that communities want for themselves, according to their same plans and interests. Members from FPP will contribute to Initiative 20x20 Task Forces on Biodiversity, Incentives, Investment Ecosystem, Policy Legislation, and Secondary and Degraded Forests.
FPP wants to join forces to address socio-environmental challenges and create a more sustainable and equitable future for people and the planet. Together, we can contribute to knowledge generation so that FPP can implement more project strategies, restoration plans, and landscape conservation on a regional and local scale.
