World Resources Institute (WRI) is a global research organization that spans more than 50 countries. More than 450 experts and staff work with leaders to turn big ideas into action to sustain the world’s natural resources – the foundation of economic opportunity and human well-being.
Adopting a philosophy of counting, changing and scaling, WRI starts with data, research and analysis to inform smart strategies, which are then used to influence government policies, business strategies, and civil society action. Working with partners, change is delivered on the ground to alleviate poverty and strengthen society.
Once tested, WRI continues to work with partners to expand its efforts regionally and globally, improving people's lives and sustaining a healthy environment.
Initiative 20x20 is part of WRI’s Global Restoration Initiative, a global movement to restore vitality to degraded landscapes and forests.
