Initiative 20x20 is an effort led by the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in support of the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration, through the protection and restoration of more than 50 million hectares of forests, agricultural areas, pastures and wetlands by 2030. Through collaboration between governments, the private sector and technical partners, the Initiative promotes restoration as a key pillar for climate resilience and sustainability.

The Strategy 2024-2030 is the result of a participatory process carried out in 2024, with the contribution of more than 60 experts from different sectors and countries. Its construction included the analysis of historical progress and the collective validation of its objectives.

The strategy is based on four fundamental pillars:

Policy: Strengthening regulatory frameworks, incentives and governance for effective restoration.

💰 Private Funding: Mobilizing investment in regenerative businesses and fair and sustainable landscapes.

📚 Knowledge: Creating learning communities and innovative tools for restoration.

🌱 Gender and Social Equity: A new pillar to ensure inclusive restoration with social justice.
